Moosefest is the accumulation of all the whitewater events into one last debauchery filled weekend! There's a party in Old Forge, NY. It involves Drinking, Great Eats, Vendors Galore, Manufactures with free schwag, The girl you met in the eddie on the Black this summer, Free live music, great end of season deals...

The Party...

Friday Nights Pub Crawl- Your favorite local pubs sponsored by the Boat Companies to out do the other parties. Everything from Pimp-N-Ho's, free drinks, and lots of goodies to give away! The Village of Old Forge is rather quite this time of year so The Whitewater Folks turn out to over take this sleep little town. Best put.... Anything Goes!

Saturday Nights Festival- What can we say they really like us. Old Forge opens up the convention center and even sells beer! Vendors from around the Northeast are coming this year to sell their wears at a greatly reduced "End of Season" Sell off. All the Manufactures are on hand with the newest and greatest, plus '08s will just be getting to the shops. Great Music from A Classic Rock/Blues band and the best part...

An opportunity to get a great deal on that new paddle or more likely that hot boat everyone has been waiting for.

All moneys raised go to support the Andy Banach Safety Fund (AWA) and NY Rivers United.

The River The Moose River is INCREDIBLE! With water releasing out of the Fulton Chain we always have water. The two Middle Moose Sections, The Upper Middle Moose and the Middle Moose Class II+, The Lower Moose Class III-IV (depending on water level), and the notorious Bottom Moose. After boating all spring, summer and into the fall there is no better way for that class III boater to step up and run some of the best whitewater in the East.

The History The Moose River in 1985 redefined the AWA and how we work with the powerhouses, electric companies, and river rights. With the hard work of people like Pete Skinner and Chris Koll setting the foundation for the new rules and regulations that have saved so many of our great whitewater Rivers. Make sure to read the article in last years (2006) paper for more info.
