Moose River Festival 2008
Going Old School
October 17-19, 2008
Moosefest is the accumulation of all the whitewater events into one last debauchery filled weekend! There's a party in Old Forge, NY. It involves Drinking, Great Eats, Vendors Galore, Manufactures with free schwag, The girl you met in the eddie on the Black this summer, Free live music, great end of season deals...
and some of the best Whitewater the Northeast has to offer!
This years festival is all about the old school!!
There won't be any...
Whining and moaning about the weather, complaining that there isn't a paper and most of all, being pissed because we didn't rent out the convention center.
There will be...
WATER, Weather, Drinking, Partying, Debauchery, Carnage, sweet deals on gear, more carnage, down river races, nudity (only if you get lucky), and taking over the town of Old Forge, NY.

The River The Moose River is INCREDIBLE! With water releasing out of the Fulton Chain we always have water. The two Middle Moose Sections, The Upper Middle Moose and the Middle Moose Class II+, The Lower Moose Class III-IV (depending on water level), and the notorious Bottom Moose. After boating all spring, summer and into the fall there is no better way for that class III boater to step up and run some of the best whitewater in the East. |
The History The Moose River in 1985 redefined the AWA and how we work with the powerhouses, electric companies, and river rights. With the hard work of people like Pete Skinner and Chris Koll setting the foundation for the new rules and regulations that have saved so many of our great whitewater Rivers. Make sure to read the article in last years (2006) paper for more info. |
